Halloween 2004 was a remarkable day in the garden. It was unseasonably warm, the skies were clear and the colors were brilliant. Some of the first flowers of spring are the most exciting. Even before the ground thaws, some of the precocious bloomers are doing their thing. Some perennials readily reseed.
